    Plan your trip to Marrakech

The red city continues to arouse curiosity and envy among travelers around the world. As a result, it ranks among the top 20 cities to visit in 2020, according to a recent publication by the American magazine Forbes.

    GETTING TO MARRAKECH

To get to Riad Le Limoun in Marrakech, only one solution is available to you: the plane. Only 3 hours from Paris, 3 hours 30 minutes from London, the destination is ideal, and the prices remain correct with low-cost airline companies such as Transavia, Easyjet and Ryanair!

    EXCHANGE YOUR EUROS IN DIRHAM

If I have a piece of advice to offer you in regards to exchanging your euros for Dirhams, it is to exchange your money at Marrakech airport. Once you leave customs, you will see a counter by baggage claim which offers exchange without commission. You will not be able to miss it. Bring cash as there are far fewer people at the counter reserved for changing cash. No scam. I therefore strongly recommend that you do not exchange before arriving at Marrakech Menara airport.

    SECURITY IN MARRAKECH

Some of you who have not yet had the opportunity to travel to the country have asked me questions about security in Marrakech and in the Medina. Please know that I feel much safer in the Medina of Marrakech than in certain districts in Paris, although like any country, there are places that should be avoided.

You can walk around with your cameras and your personal effects without problem. However, if you go to the souks to purchase something, avoid exposing your wealth (camera, wallet, devices, etc…). It will make it more difficult for you to negotiate better prices on your purchases. That goes without saying.

    RETURNING BULKY OBJECTS BY PLANE

Most of our guests come back with arms full of decorative items: hanging lights, wooden planks, dishes, a rug, and other little things. Here are my tips if you plan to bring back some bulky items from Marrakech:

    1.  At the time of your purchase, ask the seller to ensure that he wraps your goods well. They’re used to it and they’ll put your items in a big zippered bag. They even have certain folding techniques that will significantly reduce the bulk of your items.
    2. During your return check-in, that is to say the one you make on the airline website the day before you return, I advise you to evaluate the weight of your luggage and your additional bags. Note that on Transavia for example, you are allowed up to 50 kg of luggage per person. Even if you carried only 10kg upon arrival, you are allowed to have 50kg when you return. Obviously, you will have to pay extra depending on the total weight. Be sure to double check your new weight   because it will cost you 2 times less to add the extra weight online/ or in advance than if you do it at the airport on the day of departure.  Do not hesitate to go to the airline website to read the terms and conditions before your departure.
    3. When you arrive at the airport, go to a packaging stand, you will see it when you arrive at the airport. It is about €5 for the packaging + the fragile label. It is always a good idea to get your bags wrapped because these types of bags are generally not very solid and the zippers break very quickly.

A little extra advice, go light with your cabin luggage for the most fragile objects.
